Mr. Nandana Samarasinghe

My name is Nandana Samarasinghe, and I am living with my wife and two children in the Netherlands. Since 1993 I have been living in the Netherlands and currently, we are situated in Nieuwegein. At the moment I am working as a CNC-programmer at Flowdrill. Due to the economic crisis, which has a great impact on vulnerable citizens, we would like to do as much as we can to improve the living conditions. Together with a group of Srilankans we established a foundation to help our motherland. Therefore, I’m the chairman of the foundation "Nederland voor Sri Lanka."

Mr. Amal Fernando

I am Amal Fernando, and I am 52 years old. I’m from Mount Lavinia, Sri Lanka. My wife is Nirosha Fernando, and we have four children. We live in Oosterwolde in Friesland. I’ve lived in The Netherlands for 33 years and because of the latest situation in Sri Lanka we came together and created this organisation to make a difference unitedly for our motherland. Therefore, I’m the secretary of the organisation of NL for SL.

Mrs. Kanchana Rajapakshe

Wife and mother of two girls. Business partner with background in Finance, Financial and Management Accounting. Living in The Netherlands since 2000. Having lived and schooled in numerous countries with different cultures for a large part of my life, I put greater emphasis on diversity, inclusivity, and equality. My vision is to see a Sri Lanka that does not need welfare, or charitable foundations and I firmly believe that it is achievable only through Education. In line with our foundation’s vision to see the elimination of absolute poverty in Sri Lanka, NL for SL has made it an utmost priority to facilitate economically underprivileged children to continue their education so they can become future leaders to make a stronger Sri Lanka.

Dr. Prasanna Gunavardana

I am an accomplished Corporate Finance professional, with a background in Environmental science. Through my work I aspire to help people all over the world, I have vast experience in working with different types of Governmental Organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations in Europe and Africa. Both in my career and voluntary work I always employ innovative and creative solutions. I have always been open minded. I am eager to take up new challenges and engage with new ideas. I believe these qualities will allow me to contribute to the better future of my country. Although I left Sri-Lanka 32 years ago I have never lost contact with this beautiful country and it's incredible people. My goal is to contribute to the sustainable development of Sri Lanka and improve the well-being of it's people.

Mrs. Lanka Hewa Kadamby

My name is Lanka Hewa Kandamby and I am living with my husband and two children in the Netherlands. Now I am working as a Senior Laboratory Analyst at the Sanquin blood bank in Amsterdam. I dance through life because it is my passion. I love to share my passion with everyone so that people can experience Sri Lankan culture. It’s something beautiful after all! Due to the economic crisis which has had a great impact on vulnerable citizens, we would like to do as much as we can to improve the living conditions. Together with a group of Sri Lankan we established a foundation to help our motherland. Therefore, I am the vice secretary of the foundation “Nederlands voor Sri Lanka”.
